Located in the heart of Addingham, the Craven Heifer offers seven, uniquely-designed en-suite bedrooms. Dating back to the seventeenth century, we have endeavoured to preserve the building’s natural characteristics and features including the beams, internal stonework and fireplaces.
Each room focuses on a different traditional Yorkshire person or theme. All offer little luxuries including Temple Spa toiletries and most feature deep, free-standing bath tubs. Here’s an overview of our unique rooms:
The Crows’ Nest
Utilising reclaimed timbers throughout, this unique second floor bedroom is a nod to Yorkshire’s sea-faring history and in particular Whitby’s Captain James Cook.
This unique and spacious deluxe room on the second floor is themed after the work of Bradford born artist David Hockney and features a wall mural of his famous ‘Bigger Splash’ painting.
This room is themed after Yorkshire-born aviator Amy Johnson and her Gypsy Moth De Haviland plane, in which she was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic.
A nod to the style of world-famous Yorkshire sculptor Henry Moore, featuring some quirky Moore-esque design features.
This room pays hommage to York-born Dame Judi Dench, who was the original star of West End show, ‘Cabaret’.
This room is very much aimed at the cricket fans amongst our guests and was named after the catchphrase of renowned Yorkshire cricketer Fred Trueman. It includes many cricket-themed references that are sure to raise a smile!
This cosy room is named after Haworth-born Emily Bronte’s hero in her novel Wuthering Heights and incorporates moor land hues and artwork.
